My book Founding Foodies: How Washington, Jefferson, and Franklin Revolutionized American Cuisine is now in bookstores. If you’re a fellow foodie who loves exploring food history, colonial times, and historic recipes, hang out here for a while and be sure to tell your like-minded friends about this site.
Below are are some of the fascinating images I’ve uncovered for this project.

I also wrote Da Vinci’s Kitchen: A Secret History of Italian Cuisine. This book has been published in the U.S., Canada, Japan, Poland, Czech Republic, and soon to come in more countries around the world. You can purchase it from Amazon, here.
I got my start in food history by researching and writing the history of a single worldwide crop, chile peppers, and much of that material was published in 1999 in The Chile Pepper Encyclopedia. It is still in print and you can buy it here at Amazon.
